Expressivo Music & Art Studio took its name from the Italian word, 'expressivo' which simply means to be expressive — because music and art is an expression of oneself.
Our 1st studio started in Bukit Minyak over 12 years ago with only 3 teachers. In 2020, we opened our 2nd studio in Setia Triangle, Bayan Lepas — one of the most established music schools in Bayan Lepas, Penang. Undeterred by the pandemic, our team of qualified teachers pressed on.
With experience and passion, our teachers at this leading Penang music school aim to nurture every student in their chosen interest. We make our lessons approachable, engaging & creative so we can encourage every student in their musical and art journey.

D’Monte, Bayan Lepas
And so begins our first collaboration with D’Monte. Our 45 minutes together were filled with music, movement, bubbles, hands-on play and plenty of happy little musicians. Thank you to every child and family who stopped by to explore the joy of music with us. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back in December for our Christmas Carnival of the Animals — a festive music adventure filled with imagination, sound and discovery.
That’s a wrap on our Let’s Go To The Beach Music Workshop & Performance. Over the past few weeks, our little musicians explored music through stories, movement, singing, listening, hands-on activities and thematic play — discovering music beyond simply playing the notes. At Expressivo, young children learn away from the instrument too: through games, pitch, movement and imaginative experiences. We finished with a joyful performance where they shared what they had learned, built stage confidence one small step at a time, and left with new friendships and beautiful memories. Thank you, mummies and daddies, for trusting us with your child’s musical adventure.

Expressivo Music & Art Studio joined the TLM Baby Expo 2026 at SPICE Arena, Penang from 5 to 7 June 2026. Families with young children experienced four hands-on activities at Booth 92–95: Piano Playtime, Flower Art Market, Spring Time Messy Play, and Rain or Shine Music Workshop. The expo was a wonderful opportunity to introduce our programmes to the community and share the joy of music and art with little ones aged 2 and above.
After weeks of preparation, Expressivo brought an evening of heartfelt performances and flower art to Rocca Bay café for their soft opening on 24 May 2026. Our students and teachers performed beautifully, surrounded by the warmth of the café, the sound of the waves, and a little flower art by the sea. It was a most beautiful evening — one we are deeply grateful for. 'till our next event (coming very soon) ✨
On 17 May 2026, our students took to the stage for an intimate and heartfelt piano recital at Expressivo Music & Art Studio. From the youngest pianists dressed in their finest to our advanced students performing classical masterpieces, every performance was a testament to the dedication, discipline, and passion nurtured within our studio walls. Families gathered to witness months of hard work come to life — a room filled with music, pride, and pure joy. Pieces performed included works by Franz Schubert and other beloved composers, delivered with remarkable confidence and musicality.
A new chapter begins. On 17 May 2026, we celebrated the soft opening and relocation of Expressivo Bukit Mertajam — a beautifully reimagined space built with heart, creativity, music, art, and community in mind. From meaningful conversations to beautiful moments shared, we are deeply grateful for everyone who came by to celebrate this milestone with us. The new studio reflects everything Expressivo stands for: a warm, inspiring environment where creative minds of all ages can grow, explore, and flourish. This is only the beginning, and we cannot wait to nurture more young talents here in Bukit Mertajam.

Expressivo Music & Art Studio is located at R-02-23A, Persiaran Kelicap, Setia Triangle, Bayan Lepas, Penang 11900 — easily accessible from Bayan Baru, Relau, Sungai Ara, and Queensbay. We also have a branch in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
We offer a full range of music and art classes: Piano, Violin, Guitar, Ukulele, Vocal, Drums, Kindermusik (from 16 months), Music Explorers, FingerGYM Piano, and Art classes for children aged 5–12. Holiday programmes are also available seasonally.
Children can start as young as 16 months with our Kindermusik programme. Our Music Explorers programme is designed for ages 3–5, and FingerGYM Piano starts from age 3. Instrument lessons such as piano and violin are available from age 4 onwards. It is never too late — we also welcome adult learners!

Yes! Our piano programme caters to complete beginners all the way to advanced students. We offer FingerGYM Piano for young beginners (from age 3), and individual piano lessons for children and adults at our Bayan Lepas studio.
